Things to do with the Kids on Colder Days in Beaufort!
While the weather may be cooler and rainy days are more plentiful this time of year, there are still plenty of great activities to do with the kids around the area. So, I thought I’d put together a list for you to explore.
The Kazoo Factory & Museum. Truly a favorite of visitors and locals alike, this fun and entertaining facility offers a guided tour of their museum, their factory where you’ll learn from start to finish how kazoos are made, and you’ll even get to make your own Kazoo at their family-friendly ‘Build your own Kazoo’ station. Such an awesome experience for all ages…adults too! Don’t forget the gift shop for some great treats. Highly recommend.
The Port Royal Maritime Center. Features exhibits, live animals, and indoor and outdoor tours. Very engaging while also being extremely educational and fun for kids of all ages. Check their calendar for special events throughout the year and seasonal opportunities for exploration and fun.
Station 300 in Bluffton. For great bowling and arcade games, Station 300 has everything you could ask for. Plus, a great clean atmosphere, food, and beverages. You can even book a birthday party for the kids or purchase a family fun pack.
Beaufort Public Library. Reading gives us all a great bonding time with our children and a chance to let their imaginations soar. The Beaufort Public Library offers an amazing collection of books for all ages, as well as book clubs, storytimes, scavenger hunts and so many more events to challenge and open the minds of children.
The Sandbox Museum. Located in Bluffton, this interactive museum has exhibits and hands-on activities to stimulate and educate children from toddler through age 12. With a 3,500 sq ft facility and welcoming atmosphere, it is a special place you don’t want to miss.
Do you have some favorite places you like to go with your kids when the weather isn’t the best for outside outings? I’d love to hear from you and share with our friends and neighbors. Please email me at sreiselt@gmail.com or post to my Facebook page.
