Ready to De-Clutter? Avoid these 5 Mistakes!

Fall is a great time to de-clutter your home as you are preparing for the holidays and extra guests. However, all too often we fall prey to these mistakes as we begin the task. Let’s check them out to ensure we maximize our efforts and really make the de-cluttering task worthwhile.

What does a Home Appraiser Look for in a Home?

When purchasing a home, you will normally have a home appraisal done to ensure the sale price of the home matches the home’s value. This will entail having a professional home appraisal done. When could a Home Buyer Forfeit Earnest Money?

Whether you’re a first-time home buyer or not, it’s important to understand the home buying process. When you’ve decided to purchase a home it’s a very exciting time. This money is held in an escrow account, normally by the company that is listing the property for sale. This can vary however and be held by a designated attorney, escrow company or title company. The reason for the earnest money is to show good faith in that the home buyer will hold up to their end of the contract and protect the seller.
What would cause a home buyer to lose their Earnest; ...

How to Handle Multiple Offers on your Beaufort Home

Bidding wars are common and are happening across the county for home buyers. When the real estate market heavily favors home sellers, this is not uncommon. As a home seller, this can result in a much higher dollar sale, but it can also be a daunting process to review since you need to choose the best offer that meets all your needs…and that doesn’t always mean the highest bid. Can you create a bidding war for your home? Let’s put it this way, you can create a higher demand for your home in these ways.  First, if your home is listed in the MLS on a Monday, state that showings will not begin until Friday. This will give potential buyers 4 days to view your property on the internet, gaining interest, before being allowed to actually tour it. You can also set an offer deadline date and clarify that you won’t accept an; ...
