Are the kids getting giddy over their costumes and the prospect of gathering candy for Halloween? As the spookiest of holidays approaches, we’re finding it hard for the kids and adults to contain their excitement for the big day. Here’s a round-up of the great family-friendly events taking place in the Beaufort area to consider attending.
Presented by the Sandbox Children’s Museum on Hilton Head Island, you’ll be treated to exhibits, a scavenger hunt, STEM & ART activities, and light refreshments. Don’t forget to wear your best costume too. October 30th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Halloween Scream & Monster Mash

It’s that time of year to make more incredible memories and have loads of fun at one of Beaufort’s favorite events of the year…The 66th Annual Beaufort Water Festival!! So many of our local businesses, military and civic organizations, and hundreds of volunteers donate hours of time and dollars to bring us the rich experience and time-honored tradition that we all hold so dear to our hearts. We are forever thankful to all for their efforts as we anxiously await the 10- day festival to begin.
If you’re new to the Beaufort area, the Water Festival starts on July 15th and culminates on July 24th and features an astonishing array of events and activities for the entire family. There is an amazing Arts & Crafts market showcasing many local and regional vendors, a wide variety of top entertainment nightly from Waterfront Park. While the weather may be cooler and rainy days are more plentiful this time of year, there are still plenty of great activities to do with the kids around the area. So, I thought I’d put together a list for you to explore.
The Kazoo Factory & Museum. Truly a favorite of visitors and locals alike, this fun and entertaining facility offers a guided tour of their museum, their factory where you’ll learn from start to finish how kazoos are made, and you’ll even get to make your own Kazoo at their family-friendly ‘Build your own Kazoo’ station. Such an awesome experience for all ages…adults too! Don’t forget the gift shop for some great treats. Highly recommend.
